Edinburgh Castle was an ordinary with about thirteen beds according to an inventory in the 1700's. There was also a tavern which, given its proximity to the Capitol, made it quite popular.

  1. i love that style of houses, doesn't look like a castle does it.

  2. Quaint! Funny, when I was waiting for the for the picture to load I was anticipating a "castle." Strange how the mind works...no turrets or towers just clabbered siding and chimneys! It is charming nonetheless. Have a wonderful holiday weekend!!! Cathy

  4. Truly a majestic name for a colonial clapboard building.
