This couple, in full colonial attire, take a leisurely carriage ride down Duke of Gloucester Street in Colonial Williamsburg. The historic district is restored to its 1770's glory when it was the capitol of Virginia and a hot bed of political unrest as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry frequented the area as part of their government service.
Beautiful carriage and couple.
ReplyDeleteI d love to take a ride like that too.

And a georgous looking carriage it is!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful capture and the man seems to be thinking about something else rather then enjoying the ride!

If they are in period costume, I assume that they are some of the workers in Colonial Williamsburg, unless tourists show up dressed for the 1700's also.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture. Imagine taking a leisurely afternoon carriage ride and no place to get in a hurry! Thanks as always! Cathy
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Love all the blue.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful carriage and I love her hat!
ReplyDeleteFabulous; a taste of home! I've always loved Williamsburg, especially around the holidays. Most of my family still lives in Tidewater and we get back home to Virginia Beach a couple of times each year.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time ... time had a different pace. Great picture indeed. Please have you all a good weekend.
