Most visitors to Colonial Williamsburg are focused on the colonial buildings and characters. Tucked in and around the historic district is a number of pastures outlined with zig-zag split-rail fences and shaded by clusters of large trees, where sheep, oxen and horses quietly graze, often oblivious to the tourists.
You see that style of fencing here as well, from time to time, particularly with older farms and horse ranches.
