These patriots paused to chat outside the
Capitol in
Colonial Williamsburg. If you look closely at the tree on the left you can see the cable snaking up the trunk to allow overhead lighting or speakers to hide in the branches without disrupting the authenticity of the historic district.
I'm loving the orange trim paint on the building at the rear!
ReplyDeleteYour photos of historical events are always so realistic; I often wonder how disconcerting it might be to find yourself surrounded by live images of past history?
ReplyDeleteLiving with history. Do you ever wake up, look out and wonder if you are here or there? I would.
ReplyDeleteWonderful capture, it does seem very realistic scene as if I was transported back in time. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteVery cleverly disguised lighting wire, I guess for the people who do the enactments it would be like working on a soap opera, an every day event. and yes I definitely do hate the word verifications!Hope you're having a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI need to pay a visit to Williamsburg soon!
ReplyDeleteDeanna
Lovely with the building in the background!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I had never thought of how lighting could effect the authenticity... but of course it does!
ReplyDeleteFeels that time owns a different pace where you live. Thank you for this escape. Please have you all a good Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...such a step back in time!
ReplyDeleteFantastic photo of a great scene!
ReplyDeleteTHAT is a fantastic photo with those patriots stopped for a chat in front of that handsome building!
ReplyDeleteBravo Darryl and Ruth!
