The Wren Chapel, College of William And Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia
The Wren Chapel is in its fourth century of serving students at the College of William & Mary. It was restored to its colonial splendor between 1928-1931 with a grant from John D. Rockefeller. Given the close relationship between the crown and the Church of England in 1695 when construction began, the royal crest is prominently displayed below the pipe organ. The chapel is still used for religious services, ceremonies, concerts, and alumni weddings. The wood is native pine and walnut.
Beneath the chapel is a crypt holding the remains of several distinguished Virginians including Peyton Randolph, whose home can be toured in Colonial Williamsburg, and the very popular British governor, Lord Botetourt, whose statue stands in the court yard in front of the Sir Christoper Wren Building in which the chapel is located.
There are so beautiful William and Mary College Photos. I like it all photos .
