A regular occurrence in the area is archaeological exploration looking for colonial artifacts, primarily. This dig is in Colonial Williamsburg behind the newly renovated blacksmith shop/armory. Although it is covered to protect it from the weather, the outline of the dig is clearly visible.
It is wonderful that they continue to have digs out there and continuing to learn.
