Garden Arbor, Governor's Palace, Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

This arbor, in one of the gardens at the 63 acre estate that is the Governor's Palace in Colonial Williamsburg, creates a long, shaded walkway for visitors to pass from this garden to the next. Incidentally, it has a twin arbor on the opposite side of the garden. To learn more about the Palace, click here. To see the Palace, click here.

  1. 63 acres of a Governor's Palace ! a little bit difficult to swallow ... I am sure the farmers can make good use of that land ! Beautiful natural settings ...

  2. A wonderful alley with nicely shaped trees and sufficient light to keep it bright. It sounds like a large site to upkeep.

  5. I took a picture of this exact arbor in Williamsburg on July 12th - I think was the hottest day on record.. Enjoyed Williamsburg so much - took the Ghost Among Us tour and watch Witch cry - both excellent. I loved that all the buildings were nicely air conditioned. A good friend of mine was a colonial person in Jamestown - loved the road driving to Jamestown from Williamsburg what a treat.. I live in So. Cal - the east coast is a much different world..
Glad I discovered your blog from Mari's 365 days.
