Williamsburg Farmers Market at Merchants Square, Williamsburg, Virginia

Williamsburg Farmers' Market had its first Winter Market Saturday amidst the cold and snow flurries. This is an awesome market which won #1 in the nation in the Farmland Trust Contest mid-size market category. The setting of this market is amazing, the College of William and Mary is at one end, the market is set in Merchants Square which offers some of the most unique shopping in the country and begins the mile long stretch of Duke of Gloucester Street (aka "D.O.G." street"), the main street of one of the largest living history museums in the world; Colonial Williamsburg. Everyone love attending, including the doggies who then walk D.O.G. street : ).  We think it is a very special market that we attend regularly along with other area markets that we will post about often.  If you are in the area, the next Williamsburg market day is March 13 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

We are taking part in Mary's Mosaic Monday at Little Red House.

I lived in the Chesapeake area for years. :)
You certainly have had the weather this year.
It looks like a wonderful turnout for a snowy day.
Love the flower mosaic - lovely!

Thanks for stopping by and following! Your mosaics are wonderful. What program did you use to frame the flower mosaic? Simply gorgeous.

I love Williamsburg - I haven't been there for many years but have very fond memories.

I will come back and spend some more time here later. Have a great day.

Wow, it looks like a cold day for an outdoor market. I feel sorry for the vendors. Certainly a picturesque setting.

I'm so glad I found your blog! I live about 2 hours away from Williamsburg in NC. We always take the ferry from Surry to Jamestown because you just can't go to Williamsburg without taking the ferry. I didn't know about the market and I've never been to Yorktown. Your pictures are beautiful. Now we will be able to find more things to see and visit. My husband and I LOVE Williamsburg.
