SkyWatch Friday- King Neptune at Virginia Beach, Virginia

Just 45 minutes from our lovely Willliamsburg, Virginia, King Neptune holds court over the boardwalk in Virginia Beach and longs for warmer weather . . . and so do we!
The 34 foot tall statue is the symbol of Virginia Beach which holds a huge festival in his honor each summer; The Neptune Festival.

That is one imposing statue! I really like the one with the sea gulls, but then I am a bird lover. Thanks for visiting and following my blog! I have not been to Williamsburg since I was a child and have always wanted to go back. My college roommate worked there as a tour guide during the summers when she was in college. She loved wearing the costumes.

This is one imposing statue! Your 5th shot has a 3-D effect. I think it's the way you framed it. Very cool.

Thanks for visiting Oakland Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Like you two, I'm no expert at photography, but I enjoy the challenge of trying to get better. And the fun of looking at my city through a different prism. I love Williamsburg and the surrounding areas (all of Virginia, actually) and look forward to seeing more of your photos.
