James City County Fair, Williamsburg, Virginia

James City County recently held its annual fair.  It is a country fair complete with inflatable bounce rooms, funnel cakes, and John Deere exhibit. In addition to the petting zoo, pony rides, and musical entertainment, we saw lawn mower racing for the first time. These are modified lawn tractors that speed around a dirt track while country music plays in the background.  It was a fun family evening.

Recently posted a county fair photo of my own! It's the season. Instead of mower racing, we watched sheep riding--only for kids 3 to 6. I'd never put a kid of mine on a running, jumping, wooly animal. But there you have it. And I agree, fairs are fun. Thanks for the post.

How can one not be amazed by such a sight, and wish that something alike would be possible over here. Glad to know it is over there. A great Friday for you.

Our county fair will be in August. We try and go at least one day each year. Always a good time.
