The Powhatan Indian Village at Jamestown Settlement, Williamsburg, Virginia

When the English settlers arrived at Jamestown in 1607, the found Powhatan Indians living in the area.  The indian lifestyle was quite different than that of the English. The Powhatan lived in yehakins made of things available in the area such as wood and animal products.  The Powhatan Village at Jamestown Settlement is a reproduction of those villages complete with costumed interpreters.  Click here to learn more.

Returning life to its real, important size. Food for thought indeed. Great entry. A nice Sunday and happy celebrations as well.

It has been some 20 years since «Louis» visited Jamestown. He doesn't recall the Indian exhibit from his visit. Perhaps it was added later.

«Louis» thanks you for visiting San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.
