Steam Train, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Williamsburg, Virginia

One of the tamest yet enjoyable rides at Busch Gardens Williamsburg is the steam train.  The park operates three trains that offer riders a chance to slow down, rest, or just move from one part of the park to another without the walk.  The train ride offers views from around the park and you are always greeted by waves from employees and fellow park visitors at each crossing and stop.  After a long day of walking from one attraction to another, a ride toward the exit is a welcome relief.

I am an engineer on these trains at Busch Gardens. They are propane-fired, working live-steam engines. The Red train in the picture is of a German theme, the Blue train is Scottish. The Green train, although an American style, is disguised as a Swiss engine from the Alps...
