The End Of Presidents Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Presidents Park, a local historical attraction, has ceased operations as another victim of the economic downturn over the past several years.  It featured enormous busts of each president along with historical snippets about their presidency in a park like atmosphere through which guests could leisurely stroll. In its six years of operation more than 350,000 guests took the tour. As you can see, the lack of care since the last day of operation in September 2010 has taken a toll on the statues.

My husband and I visited Presidents Park when we came to Williamsburg for our 20th anniversary in 2008. I am sorry to hear it is closed. It was a neat way to interact with the Presidents and to learn about them.

Love that first photo!

What is happening to the busts? The park? Do they both cease to operate.

That is a shame!

Nice photos (especially the first). It's really too bad about the lack of care!

The park was closed on September 30, 2010, prior to getting the bust of the President 44, Barack Obama out of the gift shop. Default on the $3.3 million loan had the
property put up for auction on April 26, 2012 By January 2013, the busts had been moved to a local farm
