Jamestown Island In The Rough, Williamsburg, Virginia
This is the view of Jamestown Island from the "mainland" is probably similar to its look when settled in 1607. As the sign says, you see the Powhatan Creek, the swamp and, finally, the trees at the edge of Jamestown Island, the site of the first permanent English Settlement in what is now the United States.
