Encampment On The Palace Green, Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

This encampment on the Palace Green in Colonial Williamsburg created a very unique photo opportunity. Each tent was used by a reanactor and contained time period bedding and supplies.

I love the angle you shot this, capturing the repetition, yet with the one pile if things outside the one tent.

those tents are so small and i think they sleep 4 or 6...imagine in the summer how uncomfortable that would be....

It's just amazing how much effort they put into making everything authentic to the period in Colonial Williamsburg. It must be such an amazing place for a 'history buff' to visit. Excellent shot.

Such a wonderful way to view history-much better than reading a history book. I love the painted gourds in the previous post. Have a nice Sunday. Mickie ;)
