When visiting Williamsburg, many years ago, we dined at the Josiah Chowning Tavern. The food was delicious and the ambiance made me feel like I was living in the 1700s. I'm so glad it's still there, but then perhaps dining establishments don't come and go so quickly in the historical town.

Great idea and subject for your post. They are all wonderful signs. Maybe someday I will be able to visit and eat at one of these taverns. Have a great weekend!

My husband and I ate at Shield's Tavern one year on our anniversary! Loved the whole experience.

I want to go to Tea at Christiana Campbell's one day!

This looks like such a better dining option than a chain.
