The Iron Gate, Yorktown, Virginia



This garden gate in Yorktown opens to an inviting shaded sitting area as long as you don't mind the graveyard on the other side of the fence.

I really wonder why we put plaster on brick walls, the bare bricks like these really so much more character !

That's a beautiful old brick wall and gate. I have never seen rounded bricks at the top like that.

Its not the dead one has to worry about ,is it.
the wall with the half round coping looks a bit Shropshire'ish.

a tombstone amidst a bench, where you can read a book or just enjoy the view.
