History continues to teach modern folk as this costumed colonial shows visitors how to navigate the historic district using the handy maps detailing all the exhibits and events scheduled each day. The Colonial Williamsburg employess are incredibly helpful and pleasant event when the temps hit 100 F, like today.

You can see on your picture that the temperature is very high indeed. Would like to have a little bit of your sunshine over here.

Things I'm grateful for: not having to wear those colonial costumes when the temperatures hit 100 and more.

Williamsburg is a great place to visit, I do feel sorry for the workers their costumes while it is so hot out there. Stay cool, great shot. Have a happy weekend.

I like the juxtaposition of the workers and visitors with their clothing from much different eras. I hope all the colonials can stay cool in this heat!

Next they will probably have smart phone apps to guide people around the Colonial town.

I wonder if they had street addresses in Colonial times. In Costa Rica, even today, we do not have street addresses. Everybody knows where everything is in the small towns, and people give directions based on what they are near, such as 100 meters north of a particular restaurant or store.

I've been reading about your heat wave. Doesn't look like it's going to let up soon, either. In fact, strange as it sounds, I think your temperatures have been higher than ours. Makes no sense.

One of these days we are going to have to visit Colonial Williamsburg. Your blog really captures the essence of the place. There's so much to see and do and having taught American history, it would no doubt hold a special interest for me.
