Shady Carriages, Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

In the heat of summer, the carriages board riders at hitching posts strategically positioned in the shade of large trees. This spot on one of the side streets in the colonial district is one of the shadiest as the street is almost completely tree lined.  We are not sure if the horses or the tourist appreciate the shade more.

Probably both. Living museums like this are 'difficult' in the heat. We went to Plimouth Plantation on a day like this.
