Crepe Myrtles, Williamsburg, Virginia

crepe myrtles in winter

The crepe myrtle is one of our favorite trees. These specimens are in various stages of undress for autumn and winter. The larger trees expose their smooth trunk and branches while their smaller brother, protected in their shade, clings to its blossoms and leaves as long as it can.
