Great Tree, Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

This massive oak stands on the courthouse greens in Colonial Williamsburg. We understand it was taken from the Great Dismal Swamp and transplanted here during the renovation of the historic district in the 1930's. It is so large that it provides great shade, even in January.
