The Magazine stored powder, ammunition, and weapons for the defense Williamsburg. British efforts to take these items to eliminate the people's ability to defend themselves spurred conflict at the onset of the Revolution.

It is a beautiful structure. I've seen similar buildings on period recreation places and forts here.
