The Colonial Williamsburg gardeners make good use of natural materials for support and protections of the items they grow. This artful arrangement of bent wood is a good example.
i was just in your neck of the woods a couple of weeks ago...been showing some pics from our visit :) recently we visited an old farm museum and in the garden they used sticks for the pole beans. i've been using gathering sticks for my own tomatoes and beans...i like the looks of it much better than the metal trellises!
