Archaeological Dig, Jamestown Island, Virginia
The Jamestown Island archaeological dig is back in full swing. They dig a portion of the interior of the fort, very carefully removing artifacts, fill in the hole, and move to a new spot. As the second photo shows, the dirt is painstakingly scraped away to unearth artifacts.

Needs a lot of patience...
i would love to be part of a dig! i should have become an archaeologist! we'll be heading to jamestown next week for my boys' field trip!
They dig out a fort ? wow, that's hard work.
it must take great patience to do this!
I'm WAY too A.D.D. to do that kind of work...
