The Royal Reminder, Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia
The decor atop the gate to enter the Royal Governor's Palace left no doubt as to what he represented. If the golden crown and statuary were not enough, the "GR" interwoven in the design was a great reminder. It stood for "George Rex; the King.
