Lord Cornwallis' Cave, Yorktown, Virginia
In 1781, American and French troops pinned down Lord Cornwallis and the British at Yorktown. The artillery siege was so effective the townspeople and troops took refuge near this bluff. Lord Cornwallis used this cave as his headquarters until he surrendered on October 19.

Poor guy. One of the better generals in the British side of that war, if not the best, and he's the one who has to suffer the reputation loss of surrender.
