Colonial Couple Taking an Afternoon Carriage Ride, Williamsburg, Virginia

This couple, in full colonial attire, take a leisurely carriage ride down Duke of Gloucester Street in Colonial Williamsburg.  The historic district is restored to its 1770's glory when it was the capitol of Virginia and a hot bed of political unrest as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry frequented the area as part of their government service.

Beautiful capture and the man seems to be thinking about something else rather then enjoying the ride!

If they are in period costume, I assume that they are some of the workers in Colonial Williamsburg, unless tourists show up dressed for the 1700's also.

Fabulous; a taste of home! I've always loved Williamsburg, especially around the holidays. Most of my family still lives in Tidewater and we get back home to Virginia Beach a couple of times each year.

I wish I could dress up like that for a day and ride around Williamsburg in a carriage! Are they taking applications?!
