Welcome to an almost daily peek at our beautiful Williamsburg, Virginia which includes the "Historic Triangle" consisting of Colonial Williamsburg -the world’s largest living history museum- Yorktown and Jamestown.
This fifer, along with the rest of the fife and drum corp, signals the troops to gather to begin their march to meet General Washington in Colonial Williamsburg.
I also doubt that women were in fife and drum corps during colonial times, but good for Colonial Williamsburg for being more modern in at least this respect.

The costumes in this series are just fabulous, such rich colours. Lovely image.
I think they didn't have woman in the corps in earlier times. But now they have the same chances luckily.
