The Peanut Shop, Williamsburg, Virginia

Peanuts abound in the Williamsburg area. In fact, one of the neighboring counties has an annual "Peanut Festival."  We like to visit The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg on the edge of Colonial Williamsburg's Merchants Square as much to see all the ways they prepare and sell peanuts as for the treats themselves.

When we were in DC one year, of course we went to Mt. Vernon. There was a restaurant near by that served peanut soup. It was an interesting dish. I have even found a recipe for it, but the family has never shown much interest in it so I've not made it. We do LOVE peanuts though. My particular favorite is brittle!!! Wishing you well! Cathy

Are you talking about the Peanut, Pork, and Pine Festival? I wish they held it in another month but July. :) I haven't been able to buy the Williamsburg peanuts lately but I did stop in Wakefield on the way to Nags Head to buy their world famous peanuts. xo
P.s. Love the Williamsburgy music on your blog.
