Thomas Jefferson seems to have no issue dealing with the summer heat as he stoically surveys the campus of the College of William & Mary. Maybe it's the wonderful shady spot he chose to pose.

Thomas Jefferson At William And Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia

This is an unusual pose for a President's statue. I wonder if it references a specific moment in Jefferson's life.
As long as I have lived around Williamsburg, I have never been on the campus at William and Mary - shame on me! This is a very nice statue - a rather "saucy" pose, I think!
Perhaps he's contemplating all the activity of late at UVA.
This looks like a special spot too. Wow! Skinny legs.
Funny comment above about Jefferson's own U. Va.
My favorite quote about Jefferson is that President Kennedy had a dinner at the White House for Nobel Prize winners, and he said that the group was the greatest collection of brain power for a White House meal since Thomas Jefferson dined alone.
Great photo, the statue is beautiful.
interesting statue of one of Virginia's gentlemen farmers!
What? That disk under his feet isn't a pool of perspiration?
Great post and beautiful photo!
I attended the College of William & Mary and it was always said and proven that the eyes of Jefferson are looking into the women's bathroom on the second floor. It was always a clue in any scavenger hunt on campus. Check out the Tyler family memorial garden on the other side of the Sunken Garden, find your way to the circle on ground, face the wall and speak, it sounds as if you are in a bubble, and can only be heard by you, and only standing on that key disc in the ground. :)
